ABC School of Music

Music lessons from the ABC School of Music make the perfect gift for adults and kids alike. Choose from lessons for guitar, piano, voice, strings, and bass guitar at this family-owned business which features a relaxed environment where anyone -- child, teen, adult, or senior citizen -- can have fun learning and playing music. ABC's teachers are professional musicians, with formal training in music, "on the job" experience, and a love of music that is required to be a great music teacher. I can personally vouch for them since my son takes violin there. ABC School of Music is located at 9135 Katy Freeway, near Campbell and Blalock. Call 713.365.9154 for more information and to book lessons.

I’ll be part of a special bookstore holiday open house at Unity of Houston on Sunday, December 6, 8:30am-2pm. I’ll have bracelets from my IGNITE YOUR LIFE! art project for sale and there will also be great stocking stuffers and gift items including candles, other jewelry, essential oils, hand lotion, spirit animals, beautiful journals, and much more. My bracelets have been made by sober teens and other volunteers and use twelve words from the twelve concepts for my project (see the words and concepts here). Each unique bracelet has one inspiring word – you can purchase them individually or as a set -- and a portion of the proceeds will benefit Archway Academy. The bookstore holiday open house will also be on Saturday, December 5, 10am-3pm.

This is a super cool gift – it’s Monopoly® with the American Revolution! DAR-OPOLY is a great way to learn more about the Daughters of the American Revolution – players can buy well known DAR properties, take a ride on the Patriotism Express, make a donation to DAR Schools, and hope to get a DAR Grant approved. It’s all fun and games until someone ends up behind the genealogical Brick Wall. The game was created as a way to celebrate the 125th anniversary of the DAR’s founding. DAR-OPOLY is for 2 to 6 players, ages 8 and up.
